Taking care of your skin is a great way of helping you look younger and more radiant
The benefits of a facial
A facial plays an important part in keeping the skin clean and healthy by increasing regeneration of the cells and maintaining the skin’s balance of oil and moisture. The gentle manipulation of the skin during a facial improves the tissues and helps give a more radiant look to the skin.
Having a facial is an excellent way of experiencing good quality skin care products and there is a wide range of professional skin treatments available at Sentosa. Your therapist will make sure there is a thorough consultation before your treatment to ensure the perfect one for you.
Caring for the skin at home
To maintain the radiance achieved from a facial, it is important to carry out a good skin care routine at home every day with quality skin care products.
At Sentosa there is a wide range of skin care products available; testers are available and samples may be taken home to try. Help and expert advice is always given and skin care products may be purchased.

Three easy steps to take care of your skin
Every Day
1. Cleanse every night and morning
Make sure you remove all trace of make-up and pollutants at the end of the day (even if you don’t wear make-up). This ensures your skin has the best chance to repair and renew itself whilst taking in nourishing night creams. Cleanse and tone again in the morning to prepare your skin for protecting moisturising and or make-up.
2. Moisturise every night and morning
Use a moisturiser in the morning and a night cream at night (if needed) to hydrate and protect your skin and use a moisturiser before applying make-up; this will make sure you make-up lasts all day.
3. Protect from the elements, especially the sun
Use a moisturiser to hydrate and protect your skin from wind, rain and sun. Many have sun protectors built in, if not apply a sun protector as well.
Every Week
Use an exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and follow with a mask
Every Month
Try to have a facial at least once a month or as often as you can
Cleanse
Cleansers remove stale make-up and impurities. Thorough cleansing of the face and neck morning and evening with a good quality cleanser is most important to keep skin clean.
Tone
Toners remove all traces of oil and impurities and help tighten pores. A toner should be used after thorough cleansing.
Exfoliate
Exfoliation removes surface dead skin cells, improves the skin’s appearance, refines texture and softens the skin. Treatment preparations applied after exfoliation will be better absorbed and work more effectively.
Moisturise and protect
Moisturisers protect skin against the damaging elements especially sun, wind, cold and air pollution
DAY – Day creams protect the skin but at the same time, nourish and replace moisture loss. Day creams are quickly absorbed leaving the skin ready for make-up if required.
NIGHT – Night creams contain moisturising preparations that help the repair and regeneration of the skin during the night.
Mask
Regular cleansing removes surface impurities but only a facial mask will draw out impurities from beneath the top layers of the skin.
Masks help exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores so toning, hydrating and protecting products work more effectively.
Thorough cleansing of face and neck morning and night with a good quality cleanser is most important.
